daa Earns Business Working Responsibly Mark
daa, the company operating Dublin and Cork airports, has achieved the prestigious Business Working Responsibly Mark, widely recognised as the gold standard for Corporate Social Responsibility and sustainability in Ireland.
Independently audited by Business in the Community Ireland, the certification validates daa's firm dedication to becoming a sustainable business.
The certification was awarded to daa in recognition of their implementation of various Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices.
Notable initiatives include collaborating with airline partners to promote quieter and more fuel-efficient aircraft, reducing energy consumption in airport terminals and buildings, and successfully managing the Dublin Airport Community Fund, which supports local projects benefiting the communities surrounding the airport, such as children's clubs, sporting organisations, and programmes for older individuals.
Miriam Ryan, Chief Governance and Strategy Officer at daa, expressed her appreciation for the hard work of the staff and the ongoing efforts to foster a more responsible business approach. The Business Working Responsibly Mark serves as a significant milestone for daa, reflecting their commitment to customers, colleagues, and communities. With a focus on integrating sustainability into every aspect of their business strategy, daa aims to become a Net Zero business by no later than 2050.
Tomás Sercovich, CEO of Business in the Community Ireland, commended daa on achieving the Mark certification, noting the strength of their management systems across economic, environmental, social, and governance dimensions. Joining the ranks of over 40 Irish organisations with the Mark certification, daa's commitment to evidence-backed sustainability is essential as businesses continue to demonstrate the robustness of their sustainability intentions.
