CDI Receives Cisco Environmental Sustainability Specialisation

CDI (Computer Design & Integration, LLC), an award-winning IT systems integrator, has achieved Cisco's Environmental Sustainability Specialisation. CDI is a Cisco Gold Certified Partner, and this additional expertise recognises its efforts to embrace sustainable business practices and reduce carbon impact.

Tawna Perkins, Director of Sales Operations-Strategic Alliances, CDI, said:

"Cisco’s Environmental Sustainability Specialisation allows CDI to help our customers refresh their ageing equipment with the assurance that end-of-life products won’t just end up in a landfill. Cisco will track products back to a secure location for data to be wiped before recycling or refurbishing. Remaining environmentally conscious is essential to CDI. We are proud to say we can help reduce waste and conserve some of the resources required for manufacturing.”

Instead of creating products that are consumed and then discarded, Cisco is shifting to a strategy that enables materials and products to be reused. CDI has vowed to collaborate with Cisco in their efforts to create a more sustainable future.

As a result of the specialisation, CDI is now eligible to participate in Cisco's Takeback initiative. This initiative is intended to reward partners that collaborate with Cisco toward a sustainable future and commit to returning discarded hardware from customers so that it can be appropriately reused and recycled.

As part of the Environmental Sustainability Specialisation, CDI has signed the Cisco Sustainability Pledge, which supports Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins' pledge to have a 100% product return on end-of-use hardware.

The pledge involves reaching net zero emissions across global scope 1, 2, and 3 by 2040 and ensuring that 100% of its packaging follows Circular Design Principles by FY2025.
