WSP Earns Five-Star Rating for Climate Leadership
WSP Global Inc
The global consulting and professional services industry's independent market intelligence partner and advisor, Environment Analyst, recently released a report evaluating how major environmental and sustainability (E&S) consultants respond to the rapidly changing climate and ESG disclosure landscape.
The report evaluated E&S consultants using a unique analysis and rating system that compared their alignment to industry-specific carbon intensity benchmarks, gold standard frameworks, and initiatives such as the SBTi, CDP, TCFD and UN Global Compact, as well as their net zero and sustainability goals, governance, and progress.
The report scored 50 E&S firms, including WSP, which is one of 31 firms to set science-based climate targets under the SBTi. However, WSP is one of only three firms that has aligned with the higher-ambition SBTi Corporate Net Zero Standard, which requires more stringent and absolute emissions reductions.
André-Martin Bouchard, WSP's Global Director, Earth & Environment and Global Executive Director, ESG, expressed his pride in receiving a five-star rating from Environment Analyst and noted the company's dedication to ESG leadership and net-zero targets.
The report, titled ''ESG Strategies: Accelerating Impact and Net Zero Goals in Consultancy,'' highlighted that some firms made slower progress despite being experts in advising businesses and governments on the journey.
However, WSP is among the leading firms that are making measurable progress and driving innovative solutions that will ultimately benefit their clients, communities, and the planet.
