Supply Chain Sustainability Expert ctrl+s Raises €1M

The proceeds will be used to expand Ctrl+s's platform and support businesses with accurate emissions tracking and reporting strategies.
Supply chain emissions are calculated using statistical models based on supplier-specific information.
A Berlin-based climate tech company, Ctrl+s, has raised €1 million in seed funding from HTGF and angel investor Benjamin Schulz to expand its platform and back businesses in their decarbonisation efforts.
Reportedly, 80% of a company's total emissions come from supply chains. But, accounting for these emissions is a herculean task, and businesses, many a time, overlook their Scope 3 emissions or supply chain emissions.
Ctrl+s comes into the picture with their unique products to help companies understand and reduce their carbon emissions. They mainly offer two products: 1) item+s and 2) supplier+s.

item+s has been designed to calculate the environmental impact of products, providing emissions data and other metrics related to companies' materials and production processes.
On the other hand, supplier+s helps a business work with its suppliers to cut emissions. To this end, Ctrl+s recently launched a carbon accounting module to find suppliers with high emissions, calculate their carbon footprints as well as form partnerships on reduction strategies.
They do not ask companies to collect sustainability data. Instead, they use statistical models with supplier-specific information to provide faster and more accurate emissions insights.

Johannes Scholz, Co-Founder and Managing Director of ctrl+s added: "Many companies set ambitious climate goals, but the real challenge lies in avoiding resource-intensive data collection efforts that don’t significantly bring them closer to achieving their targets.
"Our platform provides strategic procurement teams with a robust data foundation for precise decision-making – and the essential tool to take action and effectively reduce emissions."
