  • Exceeding their target by reducing fleet mileage by 12%.

  • A remarkable 59% reduction in ozone-depleting emissions at distribution centre facilities.

  • Implementation of energy-efficient lighting at distribution centres resulting in a 6% drop in electricity consumption.

  • The diversion of a staggering 4.2 million pounds of food away from landfills.

Social

  • A renewed focus on safety resulted in a 57% decrease in the Total Recordable Incident Rate since 2020, along with a 72% reduction in lost-time incidents.

  • The expansion of the tuition reimbursement programme, offering full-time and part-time associates an additional $2,250 per year, increasing the support from $3,000 to $5,250 for those seeking educational and career advancement opportunities at SpartanNash.

  • Introduction of paid parental leave for all associates following the birth or adoption of a child.

Governance

  • A strong commitment to governance practices, exemplified by the addition of three new directors in 2022.

Corporate Social Responsibility

  • Extensive donations of over $1.5 million in products and financial contributions to disaster-affected areas, including Ukraine, Puerto Rico, Florida, Kentucky, and Mississippi.
