Windswept Brewing Co. clinched the prestigious sustainability accolade at the recent 2023 Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Awards, triumphing over other contenders in their category.

Situated in Lossiemouth, this artisanal brewery has been diligently committed to lessening its environmental footprint through collective efforts.

Nigel Tiddy, the managing director of Windswept Brewing Co, said: "We take immense pride in being honoured with the sustainability award at the Highlands and Islands Food and Drink Awards. Mitigating our environmental impact has always been a core principle at Windswept Brewing Co, and the past 18 months have witnessed substantial advancements in our comprehension of how to diminish our ecological footprint."

Tiddy also emphasised the collaborative nature of their progress, remarking, "This endeavour has truly been a team initiative, with contributions and inventive ideas emanating from all corners of the brewery. Given that over 50 per cent of energy consumption in the UK stems from micro to medium-sized businesses, we must fulfill our role in lessening our global environmental impact, however seemingly modest that impact may be."
