PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI), a subsidiary of Pertamina focused on oil refining and petrochemicals, is taking a leading role in Indonesia's clean energy transition. Their focus is Green Refineries.

Open for Business: Investing in a Sustainable Future

At Pertamina Investor Day, KPI detailed their commitment to green energy by seeking strategic partnerships. This collaboration will provide them with the financial backing, technological expertise, and industry connections crucial for achieving Indonesia's ambitious 2060 Net Zero Emission (NZE) plan.

Why Partner with KPI? Four Key Advantages

Industry Leader: KPI is a dominant player in Indonesia's refining industry, producing a massive 1 million barrels of fuel and non-fuel products daily. Their operations are further supported by integrated petrochemical plants.

  • Tech Savvy: KPI is known for its ability to adapt and adopt new technologies. A prime example is their use of biofeedstock co-processing, a key technology for producing clean biofuels.

  • Market Dominance: Thanks to the synergy within the Pertamina Group, KPI enjoys a substantial market share across Indonesia.

  • ESG Champion: KPI prioritises Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. Their current ESG score of 24.2, classified as "Medium Risk" by Sustainalytics, demonstrates their commitment to sustainable practices.

Flagship Projects: Green Refineries and Beyond

KPI actively promotes strategic partnerships through events like Pertamina Investor Day. This year's event, themed "Optimizing Sustainable Growth," provided a platform to connect with potential investors and partners.

The Corporate Secretary of KPI, Hermansyah Y. Nasroen, underlined the company's involvement in the Project Showcase and Opportunities Matching sessions. The goal of these meetings was to get funding for their main projects:

  • Green Refinery Cilacap

  • Green Refinery Plaju

  • Blue Ammonia

With several clean energy projects scheduled for completion by 2026, KPI intends to take advantage of Pertamina Investor Day to strengthen relationships and quicken their transition to a more environmentally friendly future.

Looking Ahead: A Commitment to Sustainability

KPI is committed to operating its business with social responsibility, environmental awareness, and sound corporate governance. Their membership in the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is additional evidence of their dedication to incorporating these ideas into their long-term plan. As long as KPI keeps up their professional and ethical standards, they will have a great opportunity to lead the oil and petrochemical refining sector globally and open the door to a more sustainable future.
