Equinox Gold is thrilled to announce the release of its inaugural Water Stewardship Report, expertly crafted in accordance with the esteemed water reporting guidelines recommended by the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM).

Greg Smith, the esteemed President & CEO of Equinox Gold, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "Water stewardship is at the heart of our sustainability endeavours and ESG strategy. This report showcases our current initiatives and approach towards water stewardship, marking a pivotal milestone in shaping a comprehensive Company-wide strategy for water stewardship."

Within the Water Stewardship Report, Equinox Gold outlines a strategic blueprint to reduce its freshwater consumption, minimise potential impacts on freshwater sources, maximise water recycling, safeguard water interests for both operations and local communities and adopt industry-leading water stewardship standards.

By embracing principles such as the World Gold Council's Responsible Mining Principles and the Mining Association of Canada's Towards Sustainable Mining (TSM) protocols, the Company ensures a holistic approach to water management.

Moreover, alignment with the ICMM's Water Stewardship Framework and water accounting guidance empowers Equinox Gold to incorporate effective water management practices into its operational decision-making processes.

As part of their commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals for 2023, this inaugural Water Stewardship Report will serve as the foundation for forthcoming water stewardship reports.

Equinox Gold aims to achieve a Level A rating across all operations for 100% of the TSM Water Stewardship protocol indicators and to continuously enhance water use efficiency per ounce of gold produced. In parallel, the Company is diligently shaping a comprehensive Company-wide water stewardship strategy that harmonises with its climate action and environmental policies.

The Water Stewardship Report encompasses valuable insights into the Company's water accounting metrics, 2022 performance, ongoing water stewardship initiatives at individual mine sites, and the overarching approach to water management.

For those seeking more in-depth information, the report is readily accessible for download at www.EquinoxGold.com.
