Danone has announced that for the fifth year running, global environmental non-profit CDP has recognised their leadership in corporate transparency and performance related to climate change, forests, and water security.

Out of over 21,000 companies evaluated in 2023, Danone stands out as one of only 10 to achieve a coveted spot on CDP's A List across all three environmental areas.

This repeated recognition is a strong testament to Danone's ongoing environmental efforts and progress toward achieving net-zero emissions throughout their entire value chain by 2050.

In 2023, Danone further strengthened their sustainability plan, the Danone Impact Journey. This included a bold commitment to reduce methane emissions from fresh milk in their dairy category by 30% by 2030.

They are also supporting a faster transition within the food system by expanding regenerative agriculture practices that improve soil health, biodiversity, and water resource use.

Danone was a frontrunner in getting their 1.5°C science-based targets, including Forest, Land, and Agriculture (FLAG) emissions, approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). To advance their strategy of cutting emissions by 35% by 2030, Danone recently released their Climate Transition Plan. This plan outlines a clear roadmap for reducing carbon emissions across their value chain, putting them on track to reach net-zero emissions by 2050.

2023 also marked 25 years of partnership between Danone and the Ramsar Convention, an organisation dedicated to protecting wetlands – a crucial factor in mitigating climate change.
