Canadian Solar Inc. has announced its latest accolade: the esteemed title of "Global Sustainability Reporting of the Year" as part of the 2023 Sustainable Company Awards presented by Environmental Finance.

This prestigious recognition underscores Canadian Solar's unwavering commitment to transparent, comparable, and comprehensive sustainability reporting, a hallmark of its strategy, commitments, and progress toward attaining sustainability goals.

For a remarkable three consecutive years, Canadian Solar has been diligently releasing sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reports adhering to the rigorous global standards established by influential bodies like the Task Force on Climate-Related Disclosure (TCFD), the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB), and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).

In its most recent report, the Company has expanded its involvement in international ESG initiatives. It proudly joins the United Nations Global Compact, pledging to uphold and support the Ten Principles of the UNGC concerning human rights, labour practices, environmental stewardship, and anti-corruption measures.

Furthermore, Canadian Solar has submitted a commitment letter to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), signalling its intent to establish science-based climate targets, both in the near term and on the path to net-zero emissions.

Speaking on this achievement, Ms. Hanbing Zhang, the Chief Sustainability Officer, expressed her gratitude, saying, "We are truly honoured by Environmental Finance's recognition as a global leader in corporate sustainability reporting.

"We aspire to ensure that our reports empower stakeholders to gain a deeper understanding of our strategies, unwavering commitments, and proactive efforts in the journey toward decarbonisation, the promotion of social responsibility, responsible supply chain management, and enhanced corporate governance.

"We remain dedicated to adapting to the dynamic global sustainability reporting landscape while executing our sustainability strategy, with a resolute commitment to creating lasting value for our stakeholders."

Environmental Finance, headquartered in London, serves as a leading news and research organisation, established in 1999 with a mission to report on sustainable investment, green finance, and the individuals and companies actively engaged in environmental markets.
