Avangrid, Inc., a leading sustainable energy company and a part of the Iberdrola Group, proudly announces its inclusion in the prestigious global FTSE4Good Index Series for the sixth consecutive year.

This index evaluates companies based on their exemplary Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices. Avangrid's commitment to combatting climate change, prioritising communities, employees, and customers, and upholding the highest ethical standards has earned them this recognition.

Pedro Azagra, Avangrid CEO, expresses the company's dedication to the transition to clean energy, which aligns with Iberdrola Group's remarkable efforts for over two decades.

As an essential member of the Group, Avangrid contributes significantly to Iberdrola's ambitious climate goals, such as carbon neutrality. The company takes pride in receiving a notably higher rating than its U.S. and global peers in climate change action, showcasing its progress in building a cleaner energy future for all.

FTSE Russell, the renowned global index and data provider, creates the FTSE4Good indexes, which are widely used by market participants to assess responsible investment funds and products.

Avangrid's top quartile rating in FTSE Russell's Utilities industry subsector for ESG Rating, as well as the highest score for commitments and actions against climate change and governance, reaffirms the company's strong performance in areas like risk management, corporate governance, and anti-corruption.

Avangrid's environmental dedication is exemplified by its ratings, which are over 40% higher than that of its U.S. peers and more than 90% higher in climate change and pollution and resources areas.

The company's climate action strategy draws inspiration from Iberdrola's leadership in clean energy transition and climate change combat, as well as a sustainable and competitive business model that adds value to society.

One of Avangrid's ambitious goals includes achieving carbon neutrality for Scopes 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, in line with Iberdrola's Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)-certified emissions goals.

Aside from being part of the FTSE4Good Index Series, Avangrid has received numerous accolades for its outstanding ESG efforts, including being recognised as one of the world's most sustainable companies by S&P Global for the third time, named among America's best corporate citizens by JUST Capital for the third consecutive year, and honoured as one of the World's Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere for five consecutive years. These recognitions attest to Avangrid's unwavering commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices.
