Air Products, a leading industrial gas company and world leader in hydrogen supply (APD), has secured an "A" rating in MSCI's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Ratings.

This recognition underlines Air Products' commitment to implementing sustainable practices across its operations.

According to MSCI's assessment, Air Products has made great progress towards carbon management, even going so far as to aim for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. The business strengthened its position as a clean technology leader in the sector by investing in carbon capture technology and other sustainability projects. Also, MSCI acknowledges Air Products' approach to health and safety, which shows its comprehensive approach to ESG.

"Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Air Products. We believe we have a critical role to play in addressing the significant sustainability and environmental challenges facing our world, and that is why Air Products has committed to invest $15 billion in first-mover, world-scale clean energy projects to accelerate the energy transition," states Seifi Ghasemi, Chairman, President, and CEO of Air Products. "We are pleased with this rating from MSCI and will continue to work hard every day to provide excellent service to our customers and innovate solutions while generating a cleaner future.”

MSCI ESG Ratings: A Benchmark for Sustainability Performance

MSCI's ESG Ratings assess a company's management of ESG factors that can immensely impact its financial performance. They use a methodology based on defined rules to identify industry leaders and laggards based on their exposure to ESG risks and how effectively they manage those risks compared to their peers.

Air Products: A History of Sustainability Excellence

The most recent acknowledgement of Air Products' continuous adherence to ESG standards is the MSCI rating. The business was listed on Barron's esteemed list of the 100 Most Sustainable Companies earlier this year. In addition, Newsweek just named Air Products one of America's Greatest Workplaces for Diversity in 2024, and the company is included in S&P Global's Sustainability Yearbook for the twelfth year in a row (2024).
