Air Canada released its 2022 Corporate Sustainability Report, outlining the airline's progress on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.

The report highlights Air Canada's commitment to reducing its environmental impact, including its investment in electric-hybrid aircraft, its introduction of a carbon offset programme, and its support for climate solutions company Carbon Engineering.

Air Canada also reports on its progress on social initiatives, such as its work to create a safe and inclusive workplace and its support for community organisations.

  • Agreement to purchase 30 electric-hybrid regional aircraft.

  • Introduction of a carbon offset programme.

  • Investment in climate solutions company Carbon Engineering.

  • Recruitment of eight corporate accounts to the Leave Less Travel Programme.

  • First report aligned with the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).

  • Named one of the World's Best Employers and one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers by Forbes.

  • Formalised several Employee Resource Groups (ERGs).

  • Supported 285 charities with over $1.6 million in donations.

  • Supported 250 community organisations.

  • More than 550 employees participated in volunteer activities.
