To promote sustainability and celebrate 50 years of global operations, FedEx Express (FedEx), a major express transportation firm and a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., collaborated with The Arbor Day Foundation and the Garden City Fund, a registered charity and IPC of the National Parks Board (NParks), to plant 80 trees in Singapore using the Plant-A-Tree programme. This initiative also commemorated 60 years of greening Singapore.

On April 29, 2023, 80 FedEx volunteers participated in the event held along Serangoon North Avenue 1. This project is a demonstration of FedEx's commitment to connecting the world responsibly and resourcefully while supporting community initiatives that promote sustainability and environmental stewardship.

Eric Tan, Managing Director of FedEx Express Singapore, emphasised the company's responsibility to create a sustainable future, highlighting the importance of initiatives that contribute to a better world and a sustainable environment for the communities they serve.

Tan also expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the FedEx team members who participated in this activity to support the national OneMillionTrees Movement, which aims to restore nature in Singapore. He further stated that the company would continue to promote sustainability across all aspects of its organisational culture.

Professor Leo Tan, Chairman of the Garden City Fund, expressed his gratitude towards FedEx and The Arbor Day Foundation, highlighting their valuable contributions to the greening and conservation efforts in Singapore over the past 60 years. He further explained that such partnerships play an essential role in helping Singapore achieve its vision of becoming a City in Nature.

The project is aligned with NParks' OneMillionTrees movement, a nationwide initiative launched in April 2020 to plant an additional one million trees in Singapore by 2030. The goal is to improve the urban environment and strengthen Singapore's resilience to climate change. Since its launch, over 540,000 trees have been planted across Singapore, with more than 75,000 community members participating in the planting efforts.

In February 2023, FedEx reached its 50 by 50 goal of positively impacting 50 million individuals globally by its 50th anniversary. The company partnered with over 900 non-profit organisations worldwide to make a direct and positive impact on the communities it serves.
