ERM, recognised as the world's largest pure-play consultancy, has unveiled a significant development in its mission to support Sweden's energy transformation.

The company has recently formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in collaboration with Renewable Sweden, marking the commencement of a partnership aimed at providing top-tier offshore wind services to facilitate Sweden's transition towards cleaner energy.

Renewable Sweden is a specialist in managing intricate renewable energy ventures across the Nordic region, encompassing both onshore and offshore wind energy, solar power, and hydrogen initiatives. Their diverse services span market analysis, permitting, stakeholder engagement, and advocacy efforts.

This strategic alliance, enhanced by ERM's extensive end-to-end proficiency in renewable energy services, is strategically aligned with Sweden's ambitious objective of achieving net-zero emissions by 2045.

Sweden is steadfastly working toward achieving 100% renewable electricity generation by 2040, and ERM's Global Renewable Infrastructure Projects database projects a doubling of Sweden's renewable capacity to 30.4 GW by 2030.

Ross McNally, ERM's Associate Partner for the EMEA region, expressed enthusiasm about this collaboration, stating, "We are thrilled to join forces with Renewable Sweden in a rapidly expanding offshore wind and renewable energy market. Our partnership will leverage the local expertise, relationships, and project experience of Renewable Sweden, complemented by ERM's extensive knowledge and successful track record in offshore wind projects."

Jeanette Lindeblad, the Founder & CEO of Renewable Sweden, echoed these sentiments, emphasising the importance of this collaboration in addressing climate change.

She stated, "We eagerly anticipate working together to introduce ERM's renewable energy expertise and services to the Swedish market. To effectively combat climate change and transition to a sustainable energy system, both in Sweden and on a global scale, collaborative efforts are indispensable for driving progress, and we take pride in being a part of this endeavour."
