Durst Expands Sustainable Printing with Aleph
The Durst Group, a leading manufacturer specialising in advanced digital printing and production solutions, has successfully completed its acquisition of Aleph SrL, a trailblazer in eco-friendly digital solutions for textiles as well as interior and exterior decorations.
This strategic manoeuvre significantly strengthens Durst Group's presence in sustainable printing technologies, particularly those reliant on water-based processes. Furthermore, the acquisition serves as a gateway to Como, Italy, renowned as a hub for textile design and high-quality applications.
Founded in 2000 in Lurate Caccivio (Como), Aleph has undergone a remarkable transformation over the past two decades. Originally established as a software provider and distributor of textile consumables, the company has evolved into an independent manufacturer of cutting-edge machines designed for digital water-based printing.
In 2017, Aleph welcomed Wise Equity into its fold through the Wisequity IV fund alongside its three founding entrepreneurs, Alessandro Manes, Roberto Manes, and Roberto Temperini. This strategic partnership aimed to facilitate Aleph's global expansion, with a specific focus on specialised applications within the textile industry and adjacent sectors such as billboard printing. Today, Aleph generates more than 60% of its revenue from overseas markets, spanning over 20 countries.
Christoph Gamper, CEO and co-owner of Durst Group, expressed enthusiasm for this development, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome Aleph into the Durst family. Their expertise in sustainable, water-based applications, their software for high-end textiles, and their innovative solutions for water-based poster printing align seamlessly with our vision of pushing the boundaries of digital printing technology. Together, we will fortify our market standing, broaden our product range, and deliver enhanced value to our global clientele."
In recent years, there has been a surge in demand for digital printing technologies utilising water-based inks, driven by the growing preference for environmentally friendly and customisable products. Meeting this market trend requires not only high-performance printing systems with eco-conscious ink formulations but also a profound understanding of processes and integrated software solutions. Both Durst Group and Aleph are poised to optimise this synergy through their merger.
Alessandro Manes, CEO of Aleph SrL, commented on this collaboration, stating, "Partnering with Durst Group marks an exciting new chapter for Aleph. Our mutual dedication to technological innovation, the pursuit of excellence, and a firm commitment to genuine sustainability define this partnership. Together, we have the opportunity to make significant strides in the digital textiles, exterior, and interior decoration sectors."
Valentina Franceschini, Senior Partner at Wise Equity, expressed pride in Aleph's journey, saying, "We are very proud to have been part of Aleph's transformation from a distributor to a machinery manufacturer. Today, as a leader in sustainable innovation, Aleph has achieved significant milestones in terms of organisation, product range, and technological development. We are confident that Durst represents the ideal partner to continue this growth journey."
This strategic acquisition aims to harness the synergies between the two companies by combining Durst Group's global reach and extensive supply chain with Aleph's expertise in sustainable digital solutions, encompassing both machinery and software, for textiles and decoration. This aligns seamlessly with Durst Group's strategic objective to diversify its portfolio and meet the evolving demands of customers across various industries.
Both Durst Group and Aleph are dedicated to ensuring a seamless transition for their customers, partners, and employees throughout the integration process.
