Accedo Rolls Out Sustainability Initiative

Accedo, a video solutions provider, has started a new programme to help its customers build more sustainable video businesses.
The company stated that it would collaborate with global service and technology providers to create industry standards for delivering sustainable video services, as well as undertake experiments to accelerate and accomplish sustainable transformation across the video industry.
Accedo's new effort intends to build a sustainable media marketplace by 2025, where video service providers can make purchasing decisions based not only on product features but also on sustainable KPIs such as carbon impact, audience influence, and community impact.
The marketplace will be a driving factor in determining how to address the media sector's immediate environmental and social impacts, as well as assisting the industry in meeting the worldwide 2030 SDG objectives.
Bleuenn Le Goffic, VP strategy and business development, Accedo, said:
“The video industry is having a huge influence, both on society and the environment. I firmly believe that sustainable business transformation is one of the biggest and most exciting business challenges we face as an industry. I am convinced that we need to push ourselves and our partners in bold experimentation, expanding on the value we bring to our customers and their audience. Technology and Monetisation are not enough; we must progress sustainably.”
Accedo joined the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) earlier this year, a framework that encourages ambitious climate action in the corporate sector by allowing organisations to set science-based carbon reduction targets.
By becoming a member of SBTi, the company has committed to the net-zero standard and to establishing a robust emissions reduction plan at the pace and scale required by climate science. Accedo has become a member of the United Nations Global Compact, with a focus on gender equality.
Michael Lantz, CEO of Accedo, added:
“Video touches consumers everywhere, and video technology vendors have a unique possibility of supporting a global sustainability agenda. To do our part at Accedo, we are constantly pushing boundaries for how to be more sustainable as a company. We believe that it is time for technology and solution providers to do their part and we’re inviting everyone to contribute to the next generation of sustainable video services.”
