Societe Generale has been recognised for its leadership in sustainability with the prestigious IFR "Bank for Sustainability" award.

This award is a major achievement in the world of ESG (environmental, social, and governance) finance, and it highlights Societe Generale's ambitious plans to fully integrate sustainability into everything they do.

Pierre Palmieri, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Societe Generale, said: “This recognition reflects our concrete achievements in terms of sustainability, a cornerstone of our strategic roadmap. We adopt a global and responsible approach, involving all businesses and employees.

"Our goal is to proactively support our clients in their own transition, anticipating risks and opportunities. And through innovative solutions and partnerships, we contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. While we can be collectively proud to receive this award, this is a long-term process to which we remain fully committed.”

Societe Generale is being recognised for its efforts to transform its business, train employees, and develop innovative solutions that promote sustainability. They have also set ambitious goals, including reducing their involvement in the oil and gas industry by 80% by 2030 and investing €1 billion to support the transition to a more sustainable future. These commitments solidify Societe Generale's position as a leader in sustainable finance.
