Amundi has launched a range of net zero ambition strategies to support the transition to a low-carbon economy.

Europe’s largest asset manager released a suite of seven actively and passively managed funds across all asset classes. The funds, open to institutional and retail investors, will invest in companies best equipped to facilitate the transition to net zero. The net-zero strategies support Amundi’s ‘ESG Ambition Plan 2025’ as well as Crédit Agricole Group’s Societal Project.

Vincent Mortier, group chief investment officer at Amundi, said: “Trillions of euros of capital will be needed to speed the path to decarbonisation, which cannot be done by governments alone.”

All actively managed funds aim to reduce their portfolio’s carbon intensity by 30% by 2025 and 60% by 2030. Within fixed income, the Amundi Funds Net Zero Ambition Global Corporate Bond fund aims to reduce its footprint in line with the Solactive Paris Aligned Global Corporate.

The Amundi Funds Net Zero Pioneer US Corporate Bond fund also aims to reduce the carbon intensity of its portfolio in line with the MSCI US Corporate Paris-Aligned Index.

The Amundi Real Estate European Net Zero Ambition Strategy is a real estate climate impact strategy committed to maintaining a carbon footprint in line with the Paris Agreement.

Mortier added: “It is also critical to provide investors with a wide range of choices to help them align their investments to a Net Zero decarbonisation pathway.”

The Amundi Funds Net Zero Ambition Global Equity and Amundi Funds Net Zero Ambition Top European Players assess the credibility and feasibility of companies’ decarbonisation targets.

A global multi-asset strategy that seeks to reduce the carbon intensity of its portfolio while financing the energy transition is available through the Amundi Funds Net Zero Ambition Multi-Asset fund.

The Amundi EM Equity Target Net Zero identifies emerging market companies that are most likely to achieve their net-zero targets.

The seven net zero strategies add to Amundi's climate offering, which the firm has recently expanded through the launch of new Article 8 European and Pacific equity ETFs.
