UAE and UK Agree to Collaborate in Energy Sector

The UAE's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the UK's Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The goal of the MoU is to improve strategic and technical collaboration in the energy sector as well as the development of renewable energy technology, including regulatory frameworks and incentives.

It will also increase collaboration in smart grids and related technologies, as well as environmentally sustainable transportation, electric vehicles, sustainable alternative transportation fuels, biomass projects, waste conversion to energy, and carbon capture, utilisation, and storage projects, according to reports.

The agreement will foster cooperation in peaceful nuclear energy and related policies and technology, low-carbon hydrogen, the exchange of information, knowledge, and experiences, the holding of high-level meetings to discuss and consider issues of mutual benefit, the strengthening of collaboration in clean and renewable energy, and the organisation of workshops for industry-related events.
