The MASMOVIL Group has achieved a significant milestone in its dedication to sustainability and ESG (environmental, social, and corporate governance) standards with the ESG Entity Rating of 2 granted by Sustainable Fitch.

The MASMOVIL Group scored 77 points, the highest rating for a telecoms company in Europe, and ranked among the top European companies in terms of ESG. This latest ESG rating from Sustainable Fitch adds to the company's other recent rating from the reputable global environmental organisation, the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

Sustainable Fitch acknowledged the MASMOVIL Group as one of the companies that has made the most significant advancements in its ESG efforts due to various factors. These include the group's dedication to expanding connectivity in rural regions, where it has implemented its fibre optic network, covering over 2.5 million homes.

Additionally, Sustainable Fitch recognised the group's utilisation of energy-efficient 4G, 5G, and fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks that consume less energy than previous technologies. This approach helps decrease environmental effects while enhancing productivity and GDP growth.

ESG-wise, Fitch regards MASMOVIL positively for its adherence to global human and labour rights standards set by organisations such as the United Nations and the International Labour Organisation.

Fitch also appreciates the group's dedication to promoting gender diversity in its workforce. Additionally, good corporate governance practices, particularly in the areas of reporting, finance, and tax management, are highlighted by Fitch as positive aspects.
