NHOA Group Publishes 2022 Sustainability Report
NHOA Group (formerly Engie EPS), a global leader in energy storage, e-mobility, and EV fast-charging infrastructure, is thrilled to announce the release of its 2022 Sustainability Report, unveiling the Sustainable Horizons strategy.
Since its inception, NHOA Group has been deeply committed to sustainability, with three business units dedicated to enabling a worldwide shift toward clean energy and sustainable transportation, ultimately shaping a brighter future for future generations.
The Group's vision revolves entirely around sustainability, aiming to be a technological global leader in combating climate change through the following initiatives:
Deploying large-scale energy storage systems to facilitate the widespread adoption of affordable and clean energy.
Providing user-friendly residential charging solutions to simplify the transition to electric vehicles.
Establishing the largest EV fast and ultra-fast charging network in Southern Europe, accelerating the adoption of zero-emission mobility.
Aligned with this sustainability-focused mission and vision, NHOA Group has introduced its new Sustainable Horizons strategy, which spans until 2025 and encompasses a comprehensive set of ambitious goals. The strategy strengthens NHOA Group's commitment to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 7 (affordable and clean energy) and 11 (sustainable cities and communities).
This commitment is rooted in two strategic pillars: Innovation and People, which form essential components of the group's values outlined in the recently published People Strategy on June 5, 2023. The People Strategy coincides with the launch of the NHOA Élite Programme and can be accessed at www.nhoa.energy/documents/eliteprogram. These pillars incorporate environmental, social, and governance principles to empower the group in achieving both its core business objectives and sustainability targets.
Within the Sustainable Horizons strategy, several environmental targets have been established. These include achieving Climate Positivity, which involves removing additional carbon dioxide from the atmosphere associated with the following emission scopes:
Scope 1: Direct emissions generated by the company to achieve Climate Positivity by 2024.
Scope 2: Indirect emissions generated by energy purchased and consumed by the company to achieve Climate Positivity by 2025.
Scope 3: All other indirect emissions within the company's value chain, aiming to implement feasible measures to reach Climate Positivity by 2030.
The environmental targets also encompass NHOA Group's core business objectives. NHOA Energy aims to reach 2.5GWh by 2025 for energy storage installed capacity, while Atlante, focused on fast and ultra-fast EV charging networks, targets 5,000 charging points by the same year.
In terms of social targets, NHOA Group has committed to enhancing inclusion and diversity. One of the key goals is to achieve a 40% representation of women across all employees while maintaining a 50% share of women in management positions. Additionally, the company is dedicated to ensuring equal pay between genders, aligning with the current status.
From a governance perspective, one of the targets is to link 30% of top management's remuneration to ESG (environmental, social, and governance) objectives by 2025. The group commits to adopting sustainability performance rating tools to mitigate supply chain risks. Annual assessments will be conducted to evaluate the sustainability practices of at least 80% of the group's suppliers.
"I am delighted to unveil our new Sustainable Horizons strategy, which underscores our unwavering dedication to environmental, social, and governance matters in our mission to drive the energy transition and combat climate change.

We will communicate our progress annually, providing updates on our achievements and adaptations to ensure an unwavering commitment to sustainability.
The 2022 Sustainability Report comprehensively overviews our activities, performance, and community engagements throughout the year. It also outlines the complete Sustainable Horizons strategy. In the report, special emphasis is placed on NHOA Energy and Atlante, both wholly owned by NHOA Group."
