NBB Tops MENA Region in Refinitiv ESG Scoring

The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) has secured the top position in the MENA region for its exceptional Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance, according to the Refinitiv ESG Scoring.

With an impressive score of 89 points, NBB ranks among the top 2% of global banking services companies evaluated by Refinitiv. This accomplishment highlights NBB's dedication to sustainability and responsible banking, solidifying its leadership position in the banking industry while emphasising community engagement and innovation.

This esteemed recognition validates NBB's unwavering efforts to implement crucial sustainability initiatives across its business operations. These initiatives encompass financing renewable energy projects, developing a comprehensive plan to conserve the environment by reducing energy and water consumption, and introducing sustainable financing products.

Through its diverse range of ESG endeavours, the bank has effectively diminished its carbon footprint, embraced renewable energy sources, and adopted sustainable business practices.

With over 9,500 companies globally assessed and ranked based on Refinitiv's ESG pillars, this achievement underscores NBB's dedication to sustainable and ethical business practices.
