Nature's Sunshine Products, a company that offers high-quality herbal and nutritional products, has released its Second Annual Comprehensive ESG Report.

The report showcases the progress made by the company in the past year and reinforces its continued dedication to sustainability in its supply chain, manufacturing, and investing in its employees and processes.

According to this year's report, the company's sustainability and transparency mindset has infused every aspect of its business, thanks to the implementation of key strategies and the dedication of its employees to strive for excellence.

Terrence Moorehead, CEO of Nature's Sunshine, stated that the company has been committed to nature for more than half a century. He believes that they are leading in protecting the planet and its people, and this commitment is reflected in the significant progress made in 2022. Sustainability and transparency will remain essential to the company's growth strategy, he added.

Nature's Sunshine made significant progress towards achieving its sustainability objectives in 2022. These accomplishments include converting its manufacturing facility in Spanish Fork, Utah, to run entirely on solar power, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 35% across Scopes 1 and 2, improving recycling efforts at its three US-based distribution centres, leading to a 29% reduction in waste sent to landfills, increasing its use of post-consumer recycled plastics in packaging to almost 40%, and utilising 100% wind energy to power its warehouse and distribution centre in Poland.

In addition, the company conducted its second annual greenhouse gas inventory to gain a better understanding of its emissions impact and optimised shipments internationally and domestically to decrease emissions further, reducing air freight by 24% and trucks to DCs by 50%.

Trent McCausland, the Vice President of Global Sustainability and Transparency, expressed his satisfaction with the company's progress, saying, "I'm very pleased with how far we have come in such a short time. As we continue to implement sustainable practices in our sourcing, manufacturing, and supply chain, I am confident that we will have more positive developments to share in the future."

Alongside its sustainability initiatives, Nature's Sunshine also prioritises creating a supportive and inclusive culture in the workplace. The company believes that providing employees with a positive experience strengthens its team, enables it to do good in the world, and creates a positive impact. Wellness-focused programmes have contributed to employee well-being, fostered contentment, and improved collaboration.

Tracee Comstock, the VP of Human Resources, emphasised the company's commitment to people, culture, and communities. She stated, "Our people, culture, and communities are at the core of everything we do. Our dedication to wellness extends beyond products to encourage a healthy lifestyle for our most important resource - our people."
