Moneta Gold Inc., known as Moneta, is delighted to unveil its inaugural Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report, covering the 2022 reporting period.

This comprehensive report showcases Moneta's remarkable achievements and endeavours over the past year while also outlining the company's key ESG priorities.

Highlights of 2022:

  • Imparted nearly 900 hours of safety training to our workforce.

  • No regulatory fines were incurred due to health, safety, or environmental incidents.

  • Ongoing collection of baseline data concerning various environmental aspects such as biodiversity, water quality, hydrology, and hydrogeology.

  • Fostered strong relationships with local Indigenous groups and neighbouring communities by providing employment and contracting opportunities.

  • Approximately 67% of our purchases were made from local suppliers, including small independent businesses.

  • Embraced internationally recognised performance and reporting standards to strengthen our ESG strategy and profile.

  • Maintained a diverse workforce, which includes Indigenous staff members as well as employees from Indonesia, South Africa, the Philippines, India, and Australia.

  • Women constituted 25% of our workforce.

  • Over 85% of our workforce originates from the local area.

Josef Vejvoda, interim Chief Executive Officer of Moneta Gold, emphasised the company's commitment to prioritising ESG initiatives.

He stated, "Our inaugural Sustainability Report reflects our core philosophy of placing ESG at the forefront of our operations. At Moneta, we take great pride in our dedication to building and nurturing relationships, prioritising health and safety, upholding strong governance practices, acknowledging the significance of Indigenous communities, and safeguarding the environment. Throughout 2023, we have been further developing and refining our ESG strategy, aiming to integrate industry-standard performance and reporting frameworks that are relevant to our early stage of development."
