GoodWe, a leading company in solar inverter manufacturing and renewable energy, released its 2023 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) report.

This report shows their dedication to the goals for Sustainable Development set by the United Nations. The report, released in April 2024, details GoodWe's efforts in areas like company management, responsible products, reducing environmental impact, working with others in the industry, employee development, and helping communities.

“The release of the CSR report offers us an opportunity to remain transparent.” Daniel Huang, CEO of GoodWe, stated, “Integrating sustainability into our business strategy is crucial for the long-term development of the company. We’ve focused on renewable energy transition, employee well-being, industry cooperation, and community engagement, and more, hoping to cultivate a responsible supply chain that benefits the larger community.”

GoodWe's Sustainability Efforts in 2023

In 2023, GoodWe carried out a number of goals and initiatives to become more sustainable. Here are some examples:

  • They created a special team, the Sustainable Development Research Institute, to manage the company's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies and plans.

  • They invested 0.47 billion RMB in research and development and kept a team of over 1,000 professionals working in research and development.

  • They held an Inverter Installation Experience Workshop within the company to improve product quality and customer service by working together to find and solve problems.

  • Their main manufacturing facility in Guangde Industrial Park, Anhui province, China, achieved 2.57 million kWh of green power generation in one year.

  • To address climate change, they got certification for carbon footprint on 16 inverter products and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification on 2 products.

  • They opened Community Display Centers in China and Australia to teach people about distributed power generation and use.

  • They provided 1604 training sessions, averaging 40 hours of training per employee, to support professional development.

  • They held 497 communication and training sessions with suppliers to improve the environmental performance of the supply chain.

  • They donated 1,000,000 RMB to build 8 public welfare distributed power stations with a total installed capacity of around 376 kW, bringing renewable energy income to underdeveloped areas.

Looking Ahead

Dr. Kenan Zhang, Director of GoodWe Sustainable Development Research Institute, shared further plans for sustainability improvements, noting that “The report reflects our ongoing commitment to CSR excellence. Moving forward, we’ll extend our efforts to the wider ESG field, setting higher standards for ourselves and our supply chain to pursue a more sustainable future.

"Our dedicated team is poised to establish long-term focused subjects, initiate strategic plans, and enhance communication among our business partners and ourselves. The ultimate goal is to drive tangible business results which reflect the shareable value of sustainable development and integrated ESG performance.”
