Globe Telecom ESG Rating Raised to 'AA'
GLOBE Telecom on Wednesday said that Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) had upgraded its ESG (environmental, social and governance) rating to "AA," which the telco claimed was the highest rating so far among local companies.
"This MSCI AA rating is a testament to Globe's steadfast commitment to sustainability practices and a historic feat for the Philippines in itself," said Yoly Crisanto, Globe corporate communications chief.
"As we put our sustainability ambitions into action and embed its principles in the way we do business, we are proud to set the benchmark for ESG practices in the industry and the country," she added.
The move by MSCI ESG Research, the telco said, recognised the firm as an ESG leader and underscored its dedication to its ESG strategies and practices.

In 2022, meanwhile, Globe surpassed its target by reducing 4.42 per cent of its carbon emissions as a result of shifting toward renewable energy, investing in energy-efficient technologies, and deploying green solutions.
Globe said that it was also unwavering in its commitment to privacy and data security, conducting regular vulnerability assessments, patch management, and security threat detection to ensure the protection of its assets. It also emphasises the importance of data privacy and information security training for all its employees.
The firm's "Alagang Globe" program, meanwhile, was said to showcase a dedication to employee well-being. Globe also said that it was recognised multiple times last year for outstanding workplace practices.
