Picture of Female Invest, a financial education technology company led by women, announces its acquisition of Gaia.

Female Invest is a subscription-based edtech company that wants to "close the financial gender gap" and "get more women involved in the world of investing." It has just made its first purchase, paying an undisclosed amount for the trading platform Gaia Investments.

Anna-Sophie Hartvigsen, Emma Due Bitz, and Camilla Falkenberg started Female Invest in 2019 in Copenhagen. It helps people learn more about money and investing through courses, webinars, video tutorials, articles, and live events.

The company is now attempting to incorporate trading features into its app. Female Invest writes on LinkedIn, "Today, we have paying members from 89 countries, and we receive an overwhelming demand for trading from our users."

The company says that buying Gaia will "significantly cut down on development time and let it launch when the time is right."

Gaia Investments is a trading platform based in Denmark that focuses on investing in ways that are good for the environment and people. Female Invest says that this focus is "strongly in line with its vision for the future."

“We’ve always been guided by demand from our community, so acquiring Gaia’s trading platform was an easy decision,” it says.
