The Champagne House laid out a series of objectives for environmental advancements last year. Telmount has plans to transform its estates into the organic method of growing by 2025, already 72 per cent of its estate being organically farmed as of last summer.
The champagne company has also tweaked its packaging by getting rid of the Champagne convention of gift boxes by moving towards green glasses that are 100 per cent recyclable. Telmont is shifting to renewable energy sources such as solar for its onsite operations. The company operates EV vehicles in its estates.
DiCaprio has made investments in many other companies aiming for sustainability and eco-friendly activities, including Beyond Meat, Hippeas, King etc.
“From protecting biodiversity on its land to using 100% renewable electricity, Telmont is determined to radically lower its environmental footprint,” the Oscar-winning actor and environmental activist, said, adding, “Proud to join as an investor in Champagne Telmont.”
