EcoVadis Platinum for Samsung Biologics
Samsung Biologics has achieved the EcoVadis Platinum Sustainability Rating, placing it in the top one per cent of over 1,00,000 assessed companies.
This recognition comes after the company received the Gold Sustainability Rating in 2022.
John Rim, CEO and President of Samsung Biologics shared that the Platinum Rating reflects their commitment to decarbonisation, ethics, and responsible business practices.
He noted the growing importance of sustainability to their customers, stressing the company's mission to contribute to a healthier future for society through better services and business practices.
Samsung Biologics is working towards zero greenhouse gas emissions and 100% renewable energy across its sites and supply chains by 2050. The company regularly releases reports on its environmental, social, and governance strategies, outlining efforts to collaborate with suppliers for ethical and social responsibility.
Samsung Biologics is the first Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) to receive the Sustainable Markets Initiative's Terra Carta Seal, demonstrating its commitment to innovation and sustainable markets. The company is also involved in global initiatives like the Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance and the United Nations Global Compact.
