Ecobat Achieves EcoVadis Gold for Sustainability

Ecobat, a leading force in battery recycling, has recently received a prestigious Gold Rating from EcoVadis, a globally trusted authority in business sustainability assessments.
This recognition underscores Ecobat's enduring dedication to sustainability and ethical business conduct.
The Gold status places Ecobat among the top 5% of over 1,25,000 companies spanning 200 sectors worldwide. The assessment particularly commended Ecobat's performance in critical areas like environmental stewardship, labour practices, ethical standards, and sustainable procurement strategies.
The surge in demand for lithium-ion batteries, primarily driven by the imperative to combat climate change and transition towards cleaner energy solutions, especially in sectors like electric vehicles, underscores the urgency for sustainable practices.
Projections suggest a near 30% annual increase in global demand for lithium-ion batteries until 2030, culminating in a market value exceeding $400 billion. To mitigate environmental repercussions throughout the battery lifecycle, industry leaders are actively charting sustainable courses that deliver value to all stakeholders.
“This is a tremendous achievement for our organisation. This serves as a testament towards our commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable practices,” said Ecobat Chief HSE & Sustainability Officer Stefanie Scruggs.
