Dine Brands Global, Inc., the parent company of Applebee's Neighborhood Grill + Bar®, IHOP®, and Fuzzy's Taco Shop® restaurants, has published its 2022 ESG report.

The report aims to provide a comprehensive summary of the company's ongoing ESG journey, with a particular emphasis on the four pillars of People, Planet, Food, and Governance.

John Peyton, CEO of Dine Brands, emphasised the critical role the company and its brands play in generating sustainable long-term value. He stated, "Our 2022 ESG report demonstrates our dedication to accountability and transparency as we endeavour to make a positive impact on the world."

The majority of Applebee’s, Fuzzy’s Taco Shop, and IHOP locations are owned and operated by franchisees, which allows entrepreneurs to establish and manage their own businesses while fostering a strong bond between their restaurants and the local communities they serve.

The 2022 Dine Together, Grow Together report highlights several achievements, including the Great Place to Work Certification™, the donation of 38 metric tonnes of food, raising more than $1.3M and $872,000 for charity by Applebee's and IHOP franchisees, respectively, serving 592,000 free meals to U.S. active-duty military and veterans on Veterans Day, being 91% EPS-free, diverting 29% of total waste from landfill at former company-owned Applebee's restaurants, saving 911 million estimated gallons of water annually by using more efficient dipper wells and exceeding the 20% target for cage-free eggs by reaching 22.3%.

"We take pride in our ongoing achievements," stated Peyton. "We have a unique opportunity to create a significant difference, and we remain dedicated to our objectives and the ESG initiatives we are undertaking."
