Event Description

When it comes to wind energy, Spain stands out as one of Europe's leading players. With 27 GW of installed capacity in onshore wind, they rank among the most significant countries on the continent.

Their Offshore Wind Roadmap aims to develop up to 3 GW of floating wind power by 2030. Presently, the wind industry employs 28,000 people in Spain and contributes €3 billion to its GDP. However, Spain's aspirations in wind energy continue to expand, forming a central part of their long-term energy strategy.

Bilbao shines as a prominent centre for renewable energy within Spain. It serves as the headquarters for two of Europe's leading renewable energy companies. Moreover, the Basque Country, where Bilbao is located, aims to establish itself as a major offshore energy hub in the coming years. The future of Bilbao in the context of the energy transition appears promising, which is why WindEurope's Annual Event 2024 returning to Bilbao is particularly exciting.

From March 20th to 22nd, WindEurope's annual event focusing on both onshore and offshore wind energy will take place in Bilbao, featuring a three-day conference and exhibition.

The event will include numerous conference sessions featuring hundreds of speakers and over 500 exhibitors representing the entire value chain eager to showcase their innovations and forge new partnerships. Social events throughout the event will provide opportunities to network with peers, while educational sessions will delve into the intricacies of wind energy. Amidst it all, ample time will be available to savour the culinary and architectural delights that Bilbao has to offer!
