Event Details

TU Delft pays us a visit with the Forze VIII, a hydrogen-electric racing car developed by the Forze Hydrogen Electric Racing team at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. The team was founded in 2007 and has since developed several hydrogen racing cars and participated in various races and events. Afterwards, they will give a lecture with the theme: "Driving the energy transition with hydrogen racing". This lecture will be given by Eva van der Dijs, team manager of Forze Hydrogen Racing team 17.

The Forze VIII is based on an existing sports car. It is a powerful racing car with a hydrogen fuel cell and an electric drive. The fuel cell converts hydrogen into electricity, which gives the car speed and power. It also has a battery pack to store and use energy during acceleration and peak power.

The Forze VIII became the first hydrogen racing car in history to take part in an FIA-certified race. On August 18, 2018, she competed in the sports division of the Supercar Challenge against petrol-powered supercars.

In August 2019, Forze celebrated her biggest achievement to date. The Forze VIII again competed in the Supercar Challenge at the Gamma Racing Days and finished second in our class. This success highlighted the team's capacity and makes us even more excited about what the future holds for us.
