For Climate Action, Urban Finance

This unique international conference will focus on the critical role of urban finance and integrated climate-responsive planning for climate action and promoting sustainable development, especially in the context of the climate crisis and financial constraints. It will also review best practices and innovative solutions to mitigate and adapt to climate change while promoting social resilience and inclusivity.

Our shared ambition with our Host Organisation, UEF, is to bring together city leaders and decision-makers, academia, planning professionals, NGOs, private sector, and financial institutions for a much-needed knowledge co-production on how to finance shared visions for and discuss policies, plans, strategies for more equitable and climate-responsive places and communities. UEF5+WPC59 will also incorporate a Virtual Pre-congress on 20-21st of September 2023, to accommodate participants and presenters who cannot travel to Toronto but are passionate about the theme.
