This time we have asked Dr Isla Finney, who some of you might have had the pleasure of meeting in December, to lead a discussion on the “ Climate considerations on business: How to mitigate the negative and harness the positive”.

Ice cream sales soaring on a summer day are an obvious impact of weather on business, but are you aware of the more subtle weather influences on your business? As our climate changes, weather is likely to have more influence on your end of year PnL. We’ll have a look at a variety of examples, from repair garages to fashion businesses. Often simple steps can help mitigate losses, help sales and stock control, and optimise return on advertising budgets. We’ll look at ways you could work with the weather.
