2023 Carbon Forestry Trust Inaugural Fundraiser

Since Carbon Forestry’s inception in 2021, it has been on a mission to mitigate atmospheric carbon through reforestation and forestry management efforts. Specifically, our mission takes a multi-prong approach including sequestration and fostering ecological diversity. With the aid of our Board of Directors and the services of cooperating foresters, we are also aided by the U.S. Forest Service and by NYSDEC Regional Foresters.

Our goal is to continue to acquire marginal undeveloped land and start new tree farms (aka “carbon farms”) and interrupt the carbon cycle through reforestation or afforestation. This practice is being carried out in the West (and in other parts of the world), but not in the Northeastern U.S. and not with our business model.

In addition to its other work, the Trust is actively seeking a two-acre site in the City of Rochester, New York. The concept is to establish a transplant nursery.

Addressing the carbon crisis will take time, but it is vital we preserve and expand upon the resources trees and forests provide including carbon removal, sustenance, and survival for generations to come. While removing carbon is our main objective, our efforts will also improve wildlife habitat and watershed management, and long-term stabilization of the biosphere.
