Finland offers a series of incentives such as childcare, relocation help, freebies and residency to lure green investors and professionals to settle in the country.

According to the regional council of south Karelia, qualifying candidates receive a 90-day relocation package for the entire family, accommodation, schooling or childcare for children, assistance with documents, work-from-home facilities, and permanent residence.

Last year, Finland was one of the European Union (EU) member nations that stopped extradition relations with Hong Kong after China's legislature enacted a national security law (NSL) for the city. The move, which is seen as a restriction on the city's liberties, has resulted in a limited migration of Hong Kong residents, particularly those who have the so-called British National (Overseas) passport.

Finland, for the fourth consecutive year, bagged the global ranking of the happiest nation on Earth, according to the 2021 World Happiness Report.

The programme which is modelled after a similar initiative in Helsinki is accepting applications through the end of February 2022. The candidates must pay for their travel, lodging, and health insurance, but the host will take care of the rest of the package to facilitate a seamless adjustment to life in Finland.
