Anne Simpson Gets Hired by Franklin Templeton to Head its Global Sustainability Goals

Simpson comes to the firm from the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), where she was most recently Managing Investment Director for Board Governance & Sustainability and led the development and execution of CalPERS' Sustainable Investment Strategy and served on the Investment Management Committee. Simpson was also in charge of CalPERS' investment office's corporate programme on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Simpson also has extensive stewardship and engagement expertise, having served as the founding Chair of Climate Action 100+ and its Asia Advisory Group, as Head of the World Bank's Global Corporate Governance Forum, and as Executive Director of the International Corporate Governance Network.

Simpson also has regulatory and policy experience on a global scale. She served on the Investor Advisory Committee of the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Investor Advisory Group of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, and the International Financial Reporting Standards Advisory Council.

She is now a member of the Official Monetary Financial Institutions Forum's advisory council, a board member of Ceres, and a member of the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights Leadership Council.
