Teleflex Incorporated, a leader in medical technology, announced its science-based climate targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

This news comes before the release of their 2023 Global Impact Report in May 2024.

Teleflex is answering the SBTi's call for action by aligning with the Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign, aiming for net-zero emissions across its entire value chain by 2050. The SBTi helps companies set emissions reduction goals that align with limiting global warming to 1.5°C.

“Climate change is one of the most challenging issues we face as a global population, and Teleflex is committed to doing our part to continue to meet that challenge head-on,” said Liam Kelly, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Teleflex. “By strengthening our sustainability efforts as a company, we can become a better partner to all of our key stakeholders and a better steward of the environment.”

Teleflex's approved near-term targets focus on a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2032 compared to 2019 levels. They have committed to a 54.6% cut in emissions from their own operations (scopes 1 and 2) and a 32.5% reduction in emissions from their supply chain and business activities (scope 3).

Looking towards the long term, Teleflex has a validated target to achieve a 90% reduction in total emissions by 2050.

As Teleflex works toward these goals, they will continue their Corporate Social Responsibility efforts, promoting sustainable practices throughout their business in products, patient care, employee well-being, and environmental impact.
